(NYSE:MOT) went up 2.02% to $7.84 on an unusual volume of 53.55 million shares after it reported a sharply higher profit for the second quarter and stabilized its long revenue decline as it strategy of focusing on smart phones like the Droid bore fruit. Co-CEO Greg Brown said he expect the company to post a revenue increase for the third quarter, which would be the first such increase in three years.
NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ:NVDA) decreased 9.38% to $9.18 on an unusual volume of 47.98 million shares. The stock today also touched a new 53-week low at $9.07. Canaccord Genuity maintains a ‘Buy’ rating on NVIDIA Corporation, lowers price target to $12 from $21.
Symantec Corporation (NASDAQ:SYMC) plunged 10.16% to $13.17 on an unusual volume of 42.13 million shares after reported the results of its first quarter of fiscal year 2011, ended July 2, 2010. GAAP revenue for the fiscal first quarter was $1.433 billion, flat versus the comparable period a year ago and up 2 percent after adjusting for currency. The stock today also touched a new 53-week low at $12.90.
LSI Corporation (NYSE:LSI) dropped 12.34% to $4.16 on an unusual volume of 26.13 million shares after said it expects third quarter earnings of $0.08 to $0.14 per share on revenue of $625.0 million to $655.0 million. The current consensus earnings estimate is $0.13 per share on revenue of $694.9 million for the quarter ending September 30, 2010.
